Firms will operate as Modern Housing Solutions and work for seven years on the MOD’s Service Family Accommodation.

Carillion, WS Atkins and Enterprise have won a £700m contract to provide maintenance for the MOD’s Service Family Accommodation (SFA) estate in England and Wales.

The Defence Estate appointed the firms, which will operate as Modern Housing Solutions to maintain and upgrade the SFA estate.

The other two tenderers for the contract were Interserve Defence and Mowlem.

The Housing Prime Contract will run for a seven-year period, and may be extended for three years depending on the performance of the contractor.

Bob Pallett, the Defence Estates integrated project team leader said: “It is the result of very considerable effort by industry and the MOD to put into place an occupant-focussed, co-ordinated and value-for-money service that will be uniform across the whole of England and Wales.”
