Z-Led has launched a single barrier that combines acoustic, fire and damp protection in line with all relevant Building Regulations
The Acoustic Cavity Fire Barrier with Integrated Cavity Tray provides up to 103 minutes fire integrity and provides complete damp protection while contributing to the reduction of flanking sound transmission in wall cavities, claims the company.
Z-Led has developed horizontal and vertical versions of the barrier. Either can be supplied to provide either 30 or 103 minutes’ fire resistance and both ensure compliance with Building Regulation approved document B.
The acoustic benefit meets Building Regulation approved document E1, and can eliminate the need for on-site testing when installed in accordance with robust details.
Designed for use in double-skin masonry or timber frame buildings, the system accommodates cavities ranging from 50-100mm wide, and is available in three colour-coded cavity widths: 50-65mm (yellow), 66-80mm (blue), and 81-100mm (white). The tray is manufactured from polypropylene and is re-cycleable. The integral fire barrier contains glass wool and recycled glass – a combination that is strong and will not rot, promote mould growth or absorb any water.
