This HLM-designed secondary school in Bridgend, Wales, has secured planning consent

The new site for the Archbishop McGrath Catholic school, located in the town centre, includes a 8,500m2 main building designed to host 750 pupils over three storeys, as well as sports and leisure facilities. Instead of the traditional “corridor” set-up, spaces between classrooms are activity areas. The school, which is due to open to pupils in September 2011, is aiming for a BREEAM “excellent” rating.
