The Construction Industry Training Board has named the new heads of groups tasked with identifying the training needs of workers in England, Scotland and Wales.

Seamus Keogh (pictured), chief executive of civil engineering firm Clancy Docwra, will become the chair of the Nation Council for England while Tony Elliott, group HR director of Scottish contractor Robertson and Leigh Hughes, business development and social value director at Bouygues, take over the roles for Scotland and Wales respectively.

CITB chair Peter Lauener, who took over from James Wates in April, said “The [Nation Councils] will provide industry-led, nation-specific advice that will be invaluable as our programme of change develops.”

The introduction of Nation Councils follows the government’s review of industry training boards last November. The councils will identify and support key issues affecting construction across the UK.
