Skills body appoints William Burton as interim chief executive

The Construction Industry Training Board has appointed a new interim chief executive.

The CITB said today that William Burton had been appointed on an interim basis to replace out-going chief executive Mark Farrar.

Burton’s most recent positions include group chief executive roles for Page & Moy Travel Group and the Travel Acquisition Company.

He has also acted as chief operating officer for government agencies including the British Library and the Rural Payments Agency.

The CITB announced last month that Farrar was leaving the organisation after seven years.

Burton will join CITB on 28 May.
