Several prominent construction figures have figured in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Peter Cook, the Archigram founder who is helping HOK Sport design London’s Olympic stadium, won a knighthood for services to architecture and teaching.

CBEs were awarded to David Pretty, the former Barratt chief executive, William Robertson, Robertson Group chairman, and Raymond Young, chairman of Architecture and Design Scotland.

OBEs went to David Adjaye, the founder of Adjaye Associates, Eleanor McAllister, the managing director of Clydebank Re-Build, Anthony Newman, the head of the Foundation for the Built Environment’s European unit and James Stewart, head of Partnerships UK.

MBEs were given to Thomas Harper of Pearce Group, Ruth Kamen, the former British Architectural Library director, and Janet Shelley, the founder of Women Builders.
