Property, design and construction firms to promote graduate career opportunities at Nottingham Trent University

Nottingham Trent University is hosting a property, design and construction recruitment fair to help students and graduates meet employers who are still actively recruiting despite the economic downturn. Firms attending this year include Network Rail, Gleeds, Savills, Cushman and Wakefield, and Balfour Beatty.

The event, held on 10 November, is being organised by the university’s Career Development Centre, in conjunction with the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment.

Employers will provide information on graduate opportunities, placements and internships, and visitors will be given job-hunting, CV and application form tips from careers consultants. There will also be an opportunity to hear about postgraduate study options at the event.

The recruitment fair was launched four years ago after companies from the construction and property sectors came to the university for help in tackling a shortage of professional skills in the industry, being experienced because of an increase in construction output.

Paul Hacking, head of the university’s Career Development Centre, said: “Despite the economic downturn, 26 recruiters from across the UK will be represented at this successful event, showing there is still a big demand for quantity surveyors, estate surveyors, construction managers and civil engineers.”

The fair takes place on 10 November from 11am - 3pm. For more visit Nottingham Trent University.
