A quarter of the top 100 employers in the UK come from the construction, housing and property sectors, according to The Sunday Times’ 100 Best Companies to Work.
The annual study listed three industry companies in the top 20 big employers and 24 in the top 100 medium sized employers.
The winners in the big employers category were Mott MacDonald (8), Atkins (13) and Mouchel (16).
The top firms in the medium-sized league included Hydrock (4), Lindum Group (13) Drivers Jonas (16), Davis Langdon (19), Ramboll Whitbybird (26), King Sturge (28), Willmott Dixon (31) and Arup (41).
Mott MacDonald scored the highest mark of all listed firms on both health and safety and charitable work.
Davis Langdon, which was the best placed QS ahead of Rider Levett Bucknall (69) and Turner & Townsend (80), was praised for its graduate programme and long-term prospects for employees.
Mace (46), Faber Maunsell (60), and Gardiner & Theobald (86) also made the list.
