Buro Happold consultant Vincent Tabak pleads guilty to manslaughter but denies murder and will face a full trial in October

The man accused of murdering BDP landscape architect Jo Yeates has admitted manslaughter.

However Vincent Tabak, a 33 year-old consultant at Buro Happold, denied murdering the Bristol-based architect whose body was found on Christmas Day last year, eight days after she was reported missing by her boyfriend.

The prosecution has rejected his plea and a murder trial will go ahead on 4 October.

Yeates and Tabak lived next to one another in the Clifton area of Bristol, where Yeates was heading home to on the 17 December, the night she disappeared.

Her body was found in Longwood Lane, Failand, by dogwalkers eight days later.

A post-mortem found that she had been strangled.

Tabak was remanded in custody and will face trial at Bristol Crown Court.
