Consultants grab spots on £250m Liverpool infrastructure framework

Mace, Aecom and WSP are among the firms to pinch places on a £250m consultancy framework to support transport projects across the Liverpool region.

Merseytravel, which is responsible for the coordination of public transport in the region, has appointed more than 20 consultants to the four-year framework.

The framework was broken into 13 discipline-based lots, covering areas including quantity surveying, project management and civil and structural engineering.

Aecom was one of the big winners, claiming 11 spots, while WSP was appointed to 10 different lots. 

Mott MacDonald and Pell Frischmann each scored places on eight lots.

Other big-name firms to claim places on more than one lot include Mace, Kier, Atkins Arcadis and Gleeds.

Work let under the framework is expected to centre on Merseytravel’s estate but the framework can be used by other partners of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

Merseytravel’s estate is made up of various offices, bus stations, ferry terminals, bus and rail park-and-ride facilities and public spaces.

The organisation is also responsible for public attractions such as spaceport and the U-Boat experience and both the Kingsway and Queensway Mersey Tunnels.
