Bovis tops the table for the first time in 1999, winning £119m of work in February. Its workload was buoyed by a £30m office fit-out in the Square Mile and a £21m contract for Railtrack.
Kier was also busy during February, leaping from 13th to second place with £90m of work. This was mirrored in the architects' table by DEGW, which bounced from nowhere to sixth.
The Ministry of Defence proved to be the top client for the year ending February, putting £465m into construction's coffers and replacing January's top spender J Sainsbury, which dropped to second with £342.13m of work.
