Suite of contracts is aimed at construction professionals working on self-build projects

A suite of contracts has been launched for QSs, architects and contractors working on self-build projects.

The self-build pack has been drafted by solicitor Giles Dixon who also runs the site ContractStore.com to fill a perceived gap in the market.

Dixon said that professionals managing or working on single unit projects tended to work without a contract or use a 30-plus page JCT Design and Build for Smaller Projects contracts.

The self-build contract documents are available for professional consultants employed to manage a site, building contractors acting as a main contractor or as one of a number of contractors, as well as tradespeople and suppliers.

They were created in association with warranty and insurance provider, Self-Build Zone, to support their insurance products.
