Turner & Townsend Project Management Italia has been appointed to provide project support on the Italian government's £660m urban regeneration programme. Turner & Townsend will carry out project reviews on 47 schemes under the programme of urban regeneration and sustainable development, set to be completed by the middle of next year.
Jarvis moves into Estonia
A Jarvis-led consortium has been appointed preferred bidder to purchase 66% of the Estonian freight railway. The Estonian government will retain the remainder of the railway's shares. The £40m deal includes use of 1400 km of track.
Henry Boot scoops mall deal
Henry Boot Developments has exchanged contracts to purchase The Mall shopping centre in Bromley, Kent. Henry Boot intends to submit a planning application to demolish part of the complex and replace it with 57,000 ft2 of retail and a 25,000 ft2 health and fitness complex in early May.
Shepherd wins M&E work
Shepherd Engineering Services has won a £7m contract to design, build and install the M&E services on Leeds Nuffield Hospital. Work begins on site in June.
Britannia lands three Tescos
Britannia Construction has secured £10m of contracts from Tesco. The firm will refurbish a store in Reading, Berkshire, and construct a 20,000 ft2 extension. It will also refurbish a shop in Stratford-on-Avon. Work has already started on a store in Lydney, Gloucestershire.
Allenbuild nabs pool deal
Allenbuild has begun a £750, 000 contract to demolish a swimming pool in Pershore, Worcestershire, and build a sports and leisure facility. The work will be completed next year.
