EC Harris wins London jobs
EC Harris has been appointed to project manage the Terry Farrell & Partners-designed leisure centre and 14,000 m2 of residential space in Swiss Cottage, north London. Camden council has also appointed the firm to provide initial studies on the proposed development of Kentish Town baths.

Drake lands SA facilities work
Drake & Scull has won a facilities management contract for the £140m Montecasino entertainment complex in South Africa. The firm will carry out maintenance work and soft services such as cleaning.

Carillion seals court PFI deal
Carillion is set to start work on the £30m Manchester magistrates' court after achieving financial close on the PFI deal. The G4CSG consortium, which includes Carillion, security and services group Group 4 and bank Société Générale, will manage the design, construction, financing and operation of the scheme.

Kier nabs science block
Crawley-based contractor Longley, part of Kier Group, is to build a £2.9m science and technology block at Eastbourne College. Set for completion next spring, the three-storey building will provide 2200 m2 of science facilities.

Atkins scoops MAFF scheme
WS Atkins is to provide structural and building services engineering on a £18.2m PFI office for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in Cambridge. The 15,000 m2 scheme, which is to be built by Kajima Construction, will house MAFF and Inland Revenue staff.

Benson bags £10m of work
Contractor and fit-out group Benson has won contracts worth £10m in the West Midlands. The schemes include a £1m scanner unit at Russell's Hall Hospital in Dudley and the upgrade of premises for South Birmingham Mental Health NHS Trust.

Driver bags conversions
Driver Construction has won two conversion projects worth £1.9m. The first is a £1.3m scheme to convert houses into flats in west London for the Notting Hill Housing Trust. The firm has already started work on the second contract, a £600,000 job to convert stables in Maidenhead into a medical centre.

Dew wins £5.7m of work
Dew Construction has secured contracts worth £5.7m, including the construction of four warehouse units in Swindon for Nolana Investments; four industrial units for Marvel Business Centres in Weston-Super-Mare and mechanical and electrical installations for Cable and Wireless at a Nottingham site.

Caddick to build Doncaster HQ
Caddick Construction has won a £1.75m contract to build a European headquarters for the UK subsidiary of US firm Arconix in Doncaster. The project includes a 3700 m2 warehouse, office facilities and associated infrastructure works.
