Amec has won a £48m contract to design and build a gas compression station at Bathgate, near Edinburgh, for Transco National Transmission and Trading.

Waring gets into drugs
Waring has won an £18m contract to develop the first phase of pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly's facilities at Windlesham in Surrey.

Durtnell goes back to school
Kent-based Durtnell has been awarded work worth more than £10m. The contracts include a £5.5m sports complex for Wycombe Abbey School in Buckinghamshire.

Sheltered housing in Coventry
Benson is constructing a sheltered housing development in Cheylesmore, Coventry, for Focus Housing. The contract is valued at nearly £3m and is due for completion in May next year.

Property manager MPM Capita has won three contracts for work worth £193m. They include one to provide technical advice on a 799-bed hospital in Romford.

Osbourne on the rails
Geoffrey Osbourne has been awarded six contracts under its Southern Zone Construction Partnership with Railtrack. They take the value of works carried out by the partnership to £18m.
