Costain has appointed Mark Gordon managing director of its building division.
Gordon joins Costain from Parsons Brinckerhoff where he was managing director of its built environment business. He will report to Costain chief executive Stuart Doughty and will be responsible for the group’s regional businesses and major projects, including the PFI. He has also joined the group’s main board as an executive director.

Gordon’s appointment is part of Doughty’s plans to raise turnover 15% a year for three years.

Costain has not had a building director since the 1990s when the division was split between major projects and regional contracting.

Costain last week also appointed Bill Dubé managing director of oil and gas division COGAP, replacing Les Halford. Dubé was previously European director of American-owned Flowserve Corporation.
