‘Smart’ infrastructure systems will be installed over the next three years

Costain has been awarded a £150m contract to build road-side technology along a 16km-long section of the M6.

Awarded by Highways England, the contract will see the firm build the ‘smart’ infrastructure along the motorway between junctions 21a – the M62 turn-off – and 26, which connects the M6 to the M58.

The work is expected to be completed by spring 2021.
