Four schools will be rebuilt as part of the London borough’s school building programme

Costain has reached financial close on the £71m fourth phase of the London borough of Lewisham’s BSF programme.

Four schools will be rebuilt by Costain, three of which will be funded by a PFI consortium including Babcock International.

A new special school for pupils with autistic spectrum disorder, Prendergast Vale Collage (a new all-age school)and the rebuild of Bonus Pastor Catholic College will all be delivered under the PFI package.

Once completed Babcock will provide facilities and ICT services for the schools.

A fourth school, Pendergast Hilly College, will be rebuilt through a £18m design-and-build contract.

All work is due for completion by September 2013.
