Mixed use specialist given go ahead for huge scheme after local council approves town centre masterplan.

Crest Nicholson has announced plans for the £100m regeneration of Camberley town centre in Surrey.

The mixed use urban redevelopment will feature 218 apartments, a nine-screen cinema, a bowling alley, 120,000ft2 of new retail accomodation and 900 car park spaces.

Surrey Heath Borough Council planners approved Crest Nicholson’s masterplan last month. Work will start on site in summer 2005 and the first phase of the scheme will be open by Christmas 2006.

Chief executive John Callcutt said: “Having announced Crest's appointment as lead developer for the Oakgrove Millennium Community in September and the partnership with Grosvenor for the redevelopment of Bath Western Riverside in October, I am delighted to be able to announce this month a further significant step forward for our urban regeneration business.”
