Crest Nicholson has been selected as preferred developer for the 600-home Rochester Riverside site in Kent, which will include dwellings built to level six of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The 7ha scheme, unveiled at the Thames Gateway Forum this week, is owned by Medway council and the South East England Development Agency. Detailed design for the £108m first phase will be worked up next year with the aim of starting on site in 2009.
