Housebuilder's joint venture with Trenport Investments will result in £150m mixed-use scheme in Sittingbourne.

Housebuilder Countryside Properties and Kent-based regeneration specialist Trenport Investments have joined forces to develop a £150m mixed-use scheme in Sittingbourne.

The joint venture will build 800 homes - 160 of which will be affordable - spread over 30 hectares. Other projects in the scheme include a primary school, community hall and a pub.

The scheme is located to the north east of Sittingbourne and has outline planning permission and work is due to start in late summer. Completion date is 2010.

Countryside chairman Alan Cherry said: “As an urban extension to the town of Sittingbourne it will add further to our extensive development interests in the Thames Gateway.”

Trenport director Chris Hall said: “Countryside has a significant record in creating quality developments.”
