Decision to increase number of affordable homes pushs up total number of homes sold for year ending October 31.

Crest Nicholson have recorded a 30% increase in the number of housing units sold in the year ending October 31, according to a trading statement released today. The company expects to announce record profits when it releases its year-end trading statement.

Following a decision to increase work in building affordable housing, Crest Nicholson sold 700 such homes in the 12 months to October. This brought down the average price of its new-build sales to £210,000, from £239,000 the previous year.
