Halton borough council scheme involves up to eight secondary schools being replaced or refurbished by 2013

Consultant Currie & Brown has won a contract to provide technical advice and cost consulting services on a £100m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme for Halton borough council.

The scheme will involve up to eight secondary schools, three special schools and two pupil referral units being either replaced or refurbished by the end of 2013.

Pip Hesketh, head of the BSF team at the consultant, said: "BSF has been identified as a core element of our expansion plans.

"Our BSF strategy relies on working with mixed teams selected from each of the regional offices to build both regional and national capacity so that we have sustainable expertise and a legacy of knowledge and skills across the country."
