University of the West of England appoints consultant on over and under £1m schemes

Consultant Currie & Brown’s Bristol office has won a contract from the University of the West of England (UWE) to provide QS and project management services for schemes valued at over and under £1m.

Jon Ross, C&B director in Bristol, said: "The appointment to a four year framework with the university is an excellent way to enhance our services in the education sector as part of an integrated team, where we have particular strengths."

It is one of a number of suppliers on each of the frameworks, which may also be used by other public sector bodies and educational establishments in the Bristol region.

The news follows the launch last month of the first phase of the redevelopment of the faculty of creative arts at the Bower Ashton Campus. The firm acted as employers agent, QS and CDMC for the project.

The new building is a two-storey concrete framed structure that incorporates natural ventilation, copper and cedar clad external elevations, and the use of daylight control for lighting.
