Annual charity event was due to be underway now

Cycle to MIPIM 2017

The annual Cycle to Mipim charity event has been replaced by a series of smaller rides across the UK.

The 1,500km cycle from London to Cannes, which raises money for children’s charity Coram, was cancelled when organisers of the international property show Mipim were forced to postpone the event over coronavirus fears.

Mipim was originally due to be held in the south of France next week but has been rescheduled for 2-5 June.

The organiser of the cycle that was meant to start today, Club Peleton, has taken to Twitter to reveal details of alternate rides.

In a tweet the organisation said: "Feeling a little deflated? Twiddling your thumbs wondering what to do with a few days off work? Fear not, a few of your fellow riders have organised some rides!

"Check your email for more details... and keep logging those miles."

Knight Frank sponsors the Cycle to Mipim every year.

So far Cycle to Mipim has raised nearly £194,000, 60% of which will go to Coram as Club Peleton's main charity beneficiary.
