New buildings at the Menil Collection will include galleries, a café, an auditorium and a drawing institute

David Chipperfield Architects has been selected to work on the master site plan for new museum buildings at the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas.

The practice will suggest the placement of new facilities at the museum, which displays artworks from the collection of Houston philanthropists John and Dominique de Menil.

The proposed extension to the museum includes additional galleries, a drawing institute, an auditorium, a café, a bookshop and archives.
