The Deep aquarium in Hull is undergoing a £6.5m extension just a year after it opened. The plan will add 2000 m2 to the visitor centre and exhibition areas. Concept design is by Terry Farrell & Partners, the scheme's original architect, and the detailed design is by local practice Birdjohnson Associates. The project team includes project manager Gleeds, M&E consultant WSP and structural engineer Alan Wood & Partners. A contractor is due to be appointed in the summer and work is expected to take a year.
