Anti-superdensity feeling increased last week after Islington council in north London vetoed plans for a 39-storey residential block on the outskirts of the City.
Councillors rejected a recommendation to approve the block, designed by Squire and Partners. London Merchant Securities, the developer, had proposed to build 225 flats on the 0.3ha site. It is now considering its response to the decision.
