Developer London & Regional has won the job to deliver a multibillion-pound redevelopment of Albert Island in east London’s Royal Docks.

The firm has beaten off competition from the likes of Chinese property developer ASF to become the mayor of London’s development partner on the 10ha project.

Former London mayor Boris Johnson launched the search for a development partner back in spring 2015.

The redevelopment, located to the east of London City Airport, will create new commercial opportunities, including a commercial boatyard to provide maintenance and repair facilities to help increase river transport on the Thames.

London & Regional and the mayor of London have been contacted for comment.
