Ernst & Young appointed receiver for Dew Construction and Dew Remediation, after Scottish construction group Dew Pitchmastic is hit by pension deficits.

Scottish construction group Dew Pitchmastic has put two of its subsidiaries into receivership after being hit by pension deficits.

Ernst & Young has been appointed as receivers for Dew Construction and Dew Remediation. Pitchmastic Pmb, the group's structural waterproofing business, is not in receivership and is continuing normal trading.

It is understood that receivers were called in after a £28m pension deficit put increasing pressure on cashflow across Dew Construction and Dew Remediation. The £140m turnover group employs about 470 staff.
