£50m, BREEAM Excellent-rated building the Palatine Centre is new HQ for university

The £50m Palatine Centre at Durham University has opened its doors.

Designed by Space Group and PH Partnership, with Laing O’Rourke as the main contractor, the BREEAM Excellent-rated building is the new HQ for the university.

Solar thermal collectors, photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, solar shading, rainwater harvesting and sedum roofing are used in the building. Cundall was the engineer and Turner & Townsend was cost consultant.
