Quantity Surveyor EC Harris has made two acquisitions and opened four offices in the Far East.
The £110m-turnover group has bought Hertford Consulting Group, which has offices in Hong Kong and the Philippines, and Singapore-based OTN Building Cost Consultants. The firm has also opened larger offices in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.

Hertford Consulting is a cost consultant, which has been in the Far East for 10 years dealing mainly with hotel and leisure projects. OTN has been in the Far East for two decades, focusing on commercial, housing and government buildings.

EC Harris chairman Richard Clare said the acquisitions and new offices would help it become the number one international construction consultant.

  • EC Harris has also appointed two partners. They are: Mike Knox, formerly at Hanscomb, and Alun Oliver.

Oliver, who joined from Ernst & Young, will be concentrating on operations in the Thames Valley area.
