Architect and urban designer Stock Woolstencroft has completed Denmark Place, a green affordable housing scheme in Tower Hamlets, east London. The £4.5m scheme comprises 50 homes, a commercial unit and two communal gardens. The design combines stained timber windows, cedar boarding and timber decking with galvanized metal balconies and zinc roofing. Ecological features include enhanced thermal insulation and rainwater harvesting. The client was Toynbee Housing Association, and the project team included contractor Galliford Try, structural engineer Walker Associates and environmental engineer FaberMaunsell.
