The largest annual property and construction yachting regatta in Europe is looking for entries for this year’s event

Charity regatta celebrates 21st anniversary

The Little Britain Challenge Cup celebrates its 21st anniversary this year by increasing the number of races from four to five.

The long race held on Saturday will now be split into two shorter races and an extra class will be added for J/109s yachts, which will replace Sigma 38s.

As well as racing, Cowes, Isle of Wight, will play host to a series of social events featuring live music over the course of the three day charity event.

Chairperson Sarah Ashworth said: “It’s incredible to think that Little Britain started 20 years ago with just three boats and has now become an annual event that attracts over 3,000 people.

“We hope that 2008 will exceed all previous years’ fundraising achievements for our fantastic range of nominated charities.”

The charities supported by Little Britain include the Ellen MacArthur Trust, the Paralympic Sailing trust and Blind at Sea. The event will run from 11-14th September.
