Property services purchases property consultancy

Property services group Erinaceous has bought property consultancy Dearle and Henderson.

Norman Kemp, managing director of Erinaceous’ building consultancy division, said: “The D&H deal is an opportunity to expand the Group’s provision geographically and to supplement the range and skills we offer with additional services such as asbestos consultancy.

“It also provides us with an increased public sector presence and greater experience in areas such as rail infrastructure works.”

Philip Darby of D&H commented: “Underpinned by the resources of the Erinaceous Group, this exciting opportunity to further develop our services both to our existing client base and to those within Erinaceous will be a powerful combination in the property market.”

McBains Cooper was also in talks to buy D&H last month. The firm’s chief executive Michael Thirkettle confirmed that a formal offer was made.

He said: “We made an offer and it was rejected. It was the second offer we have made for the company. We also bid for it last year.”
