Property firm's interim results, due out today, have been put back to the end of the week

Troubled property consultant Erinaceous has delayed its results announcement after revealing it is in emergency talks with lenders over breaches of its banking covenants.

The company, which has seen its share price fall more than 70% during the past four months, was due to announce interim results today. In a stock exchange statement this morning, the company said it now expected to announce them by the end of the week.

The city is braced for poor results from the firm, whose directors were in talks over a possible takeover earlier this year.

HBOS made a 300p per share offer for the company in July, but walked away from talks last month. Bidders including 3i, Bridgepoint and Vincent Tchenguez were also understood to have looked at the company, but did not make an offer.
