Feilden Clegg Bradley Architects has become the first architect to be granted planning approval for a country house under the ODPM's policy statement on sustainable development in rural areas. PPS7 permits such buildings, even if they contravene the local development plan, as long as they are designed to "the highest standards of contemporary architecture".
A key principle of the 3500 m2 house was integration with the surrounding landscape in north-east Lincolnshire. Barton Willmore is the planning consultant and Dan Pearson Studio the landscape architect.
