QS is consultant on the Northumberland Church of England Academy

Consultant Faithful+Gould has assisted in the successful delivery of final stage works on the £51m academies project in Northumberland.

The firm provided QS and project management support as well as managing costs on the Northumberland Church of England Academy scheme.

F+G worked with a team that included Northumberland County Council, Kier Construction and GB Building Solutions.

The project is the biggest, new single build school contract in the national academies’ framework and the first all-age academy on multiple sites in the UK.

It comprised the refurbishment of Thomas Bewick and James Knott schools in Ashington, together with new schools for Grace Darling in Newbiggin by the Sea, William Leech in Lynemouth and most recently the Josephine Butler Campus in Ashington.

Funding for the project was received from a number of bodies including Partnerships for Schools, Devolved Formula Capital, Revenue Contribution to Capital Outlay and Northumberland Council.
