No reported injuries as 30 firefighters bring blaze under control at site in County Durham

A timber frame site of 40 properties under construction has been destroyed by fire in East Stanley, County Durham, according to the BBC website.

There were no reported injuries and it took more than 30 firefighters to bring the blaze under control after it started early this morning.

Police and fire investigators are looking into the cause.

The blaze comes a week after Building reported that insurance company Brit Insurance is claiming 2.6m from housebuilder Taylor Wimpey for a fire on a site in London, which it claims did not conform to regulations.
