The developer, which was set up by Lend Lease and Stanhope in 2002, has also appointed former BAA development and design director Mark Shirburne-Davies as development director.

First Base is working with Lend Lease on Stratford City and the regeneration of Elephant & Castle.

Wade spent ten years at Lend Lease and set up its development and PM wing, Lend Lease Projects. He was made COO in May 2006.

Shirburne-Davies was an architect at Terry Farrell & Partners for more than 15 years, and went on to oversee the redevelopment of Heathrow Terminals 1 and 2 at BAA, leading a project team of over 130 people.

Elliot Lipton, managing director of First Base, said: “All the additional expertise that Mark and Phil bring will add huge value to the exciting projects we currently have in our pipeline. I am confident that we have the right team in place to lead the company as we move into 2008.”
