Faber Maunsell’s City Campus East for Northumbria University has scooped the new-build project prize at CIBSE’s Low Carbon Awards.
The structure was designed to use minimal energy and is fitted with solar collectors on the roof and sensor-controlled heating and lighting. The £100m university development is made up of two buildings on a brownfield site, close to the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.
