Cancer care centre has been designed by Oslo-based Snohetta

The first images of the proposed Maggie’s Centre in Aberdeen, designed by Oslo-based architecture practice Snohetta, have been released.

Maggie’s Centres provide provide emotional and practical support for people affected by cancer.

Snohetta follows in the footsteps of renowed architects Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid and Rem Koohaas in designing a centre for the Maggie’s charity.

A planning application has been submitted to Aberdeen council, with an outcome expected early in the new year.

Laura Lee, Maggie’s CEO, said:  “We are so pleased that the application is now under consideration by the council. The design for Maggie’s Aberdeen is really striking and encapsulates the Maggie’s brief in providing a space that is homely and full of warmth, while sparking curiosity and imagination from its visitors.”
