Partnerships for Schools publishes details of 16 projects in the south of England to be tendered to framework contractors

Partnerships for Schools has revealed details of 16 academy projects in the south of England to be released to contractors on its academies framework, in the first wave of £800m worth of schemes that will be tendered over the next 18 months.

Five schemes will be released to contractors on the framework by the end of July, with a further eleven to follow. The projects include schemes in Wiltshire, Norfolk, Lambeth and Plymouth. A full list is below.

The news comes a month after PfS confirmed that £800m worth of schemes approved by the government would start hitting the market in June. The schemes will be divided into £250m worth of work (28 schemes) in the North, and £550m worth (43 schemes) in the South. PfS has not yet published details of the first batch of schemes in the North, apart from the first project, in Bolton.

PfS will manage the academies framework until the delivery body is closed and incorporated into the new Education Funding Agency next year. The agency said the latest list of projects was not exhaustive, but had been issued to give an indication of the “coming project pipeline.”
