Cambridge university’s department of architecture has spent £3m refurbishing its premises and developing a studio building alongside it.

The studio, designed by Mole Architects, is a timber-framed building that draws low-energy cooling and heating from a borehole and heat pump. Freeland Rees Roberts designed the refurbishment. Scott Wilson was structural engineer, Gardiner & Theobald was QS, Hannah Reed was project manager and ISG was main contractor.
