The pumping station at the Olympic park became operational this week after being completed by Barhale
The station is the hub of a new 1.8km sewer network that will be a legacy construction project at the Olympics. According to reports, its pink cylinders have already been nicknamed Pinky and Perky by workers. The £5.9m station is the second Olympic building to become operational, following the electricity substation opening last October.
