Foreign Office Architects has won a competition to design the BBC's £22m music centre at White City, west London. The project, dubbed the Music Box, is expected to open in 2006. It will house the BBC Symphony Orchestra and provide two state-of-the-art studios. It will also have an audience capacity of up to 600. The project is to be financed and built by the BBC's property partnership with Land Securities Trillium.
