Skanska UK has appointed an executive vice president to its board to lead a strategic review of the business.

David Tydeman joined the board on Monday and his first responsibility will be to form a strategic plan for the periods 2007-10 and 2010-13.

Tydeman joins from Morrison where he was chief operating officer.

Following the strategic review, from August 2007 he will succeed Peter Coote as head of Skanska UK’s construction business stream, which includes commercial and M&E work.

Coote will retain a position on the board as senior executive vice president, responsible for global risk and opportunity reviews.
