Hires include new energy and industry UK boss

Frazer Mackay has joined WSP’s 750-strong energy and industry business as UK managing director.

Mackay, a chartered engineer, has 28 years’ experience in business operations and project delivery roles, and has worked for Shell, BP, INEOS, ExxonMobil, Statoil, SABIC, Total, Valero, PRL and GSK.

He moves from Costain where he was sector director for oil and gas and led a team of 500 energy experts, managing a $150m turnover.

Karen Dingley rejoins WSP as head of mining and water services from Golder Associates.

The chartered civil engineer has more than 14 years’ experience in international mining and water engineering. She led a mining project team in West Africa during the Ebola crisis.

Dingley was named in the 2013-2014 Top 100 Inspirational Women in Mining.

Darren Powell joins as senior technical director in the highways team tasked with strengthening the consultancy’s capability across strategic and local government highways in Yorkshire and the North East.

With 26 years’ industry experience, Powell joins from Sweco where he was responsible for teams delivering work for Highways England across the regional investment programme and Smart Motorways initiative.

Kirsteen Hughes joins the public private partnerships and capital investment services team as associate director. With more than 14 years’ sector experience she joins from MAMG where she was a general manager on the Bradford Building Schools for the future.
