Galliford Try JV is named preferred bidder on scheme to design and build Northants water treatment works for Anglian Water

A Galliford Try joint venture has been named preferred bidder on a £50m water treatment works contract in Northamptonshire.

The joint venture between Galliford Try and engineering and construction management contractor Imtech Process will carry out the design, construction and commissioning of an extension to the existing water treatment works at Wing Water for Anglian Water.

Galliford Try chief executive Greg Fitzgerald, said: “We are delighted to be playing a major role in delivering Anglian Water's infrastructure programme. Galliford Try is already a leading framework contractor to the water industry and this appointment demonstrates once again our ability to add to our workload by winning additional major projects.”

Mott McDonald is project engineer and Earthtech is the specialist process design sub-contractor on the project, which also involves the construction of two major pumping stations.

Work will start in January 2008 and is expected to complete in December 2009.
