Transport for Scotland hires contractor to build 5 k road in north of Scotland

Galliford Try’s infrastructure business has won a £31.5m roads project in Scotland.

Morrison Construction will design and build a 5 kilometer section of the A96, the trunk road connecting Aberdeen and Inverness, under a contract from Transport Scotland.

The deal includes construction of two bridges, four underpasses and a single carriageway to bypass the villages of Fochabers and Mosstodloch. The project is due to complete in the spring of 2012.

Galliford Try chief executive, Greg Fitzgerald, said: "We are delighted to have secured this major infrastructure project to improve an important part of the north of Scotland's roads network.”
